Frequently Asked Questions

No you don't have to have experience with firearms to take the Intro to Defensive Pistol (IDP)/Intro to Defensive Rifle (IDR) courses. Novices are recommended to begin with either of those courses to get you familiarize with basic safety and operating of pistols/rifles. These are the prerequisites for taking any of courses in our Urban Defensive Pistol/Rifle series.

Intro to Defensive Pistol (IDP)

Students must bring a pistol, a kydex holster (AIWB/IWB/OWB) on a sturdy belt, 3 magazines, magazine pouches or pockets, ammo, hearing & eye protection.  Wear weather appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes or boots, and a hat with brim.  Avoid wearing shirts with loose necks, so that hot brass doesn't fall down your shirt.

ALL Urban Defensive Pistol (UDP1/UDP2/UDP3)

Students must bring a pistol, a kydex holster (AIWB/IWB/OWB) on a sturdy belt, 3 magazines, magazine pouches or pockets, ammo, hearing & eye protection.  Wear weather appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes or boots, and a hat with brim.  Avoid wearing shirts with loose necks, so that hot brass doesn't fall down your shirt.

Intro to Defensive Rifle (IDR)

Students must bring an AR carbine rifle or pistol, a sling (Single/Double Point), 3 magazines, magazine pouches or pockets, ammo, hearing & eye protection. Wear weather appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes or boots, and a hat with brim.  Avoid wearing shirts with loose necks, so that hot brass doesn't fall down your shirt. You can bring a plate carrier or whatever item you want to retain your magazines.

ALL Urban Defensive Rifle (UDR1/UDR2/UDR3)

Students must bring an AR carbine rifle or pistol, a sling (Single/Double Point), 3 magazines, magazine pouches or pockets, ammo, hearing & eye protection.   UDR2 and UDR3 students will also need a pistol in a holster on a sturdy belt, and pistol ammo (100 rounds at least).  Wear weather appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes or boots, and a hat with brim.  Avoid wearing shirts with loose necks, so that hot brass doesn't fall down your shirt. You can bring a plate carrier or whatever item you want to retain your magazines.

Currently we are not setup to sell ammunition. However, please check our Affiliates page for ammunition options. Please be sure to begin searching for the required ammunition well before our scheduled class. You will want Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) for pistols/rifle ammo.
