In our two day Basic Instructor Development Course (BIDC) you will learn how to effectively connect and engage with students of varying experience levels. I will teach you about many of the different adult learning styles that you may encounter as an Instructor. We will discuss the top ten instructor mistakes, and how to avoid them, teaching best practices, and running a safe dry fire and live fire range. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of the USCCA training material through several short presentations to a group of your peers, in addition to running a live fire range, guiding your peers through the safe completion of the USCCA Instructor Certification course of fire.
You will learn the necessary skills to empower your students to be their own first responders in addition to being responsible for their safety and the safety of their loved ones. As a Defensive Firearms Instructor, you bear a great responsibility in a position of trust because the lessons you teach may help your students SAVE LIVES. Your students will be placing their faith in the education and training you provide. This is a huge responsibility that requires an immense commitment to ensure that you do not fail them. This level of trust demands that you provide them with nothing less than unwavering excellence.
